No Mother Left Behind donated a sling to its’ 100th mother and her three week old baby! She was presented with a brand new brocade ring sling made by Niftybaby and a gift basket full of natural parenting items that were donated by several different companies.
Needless to say she was overjoyed! Thank you to everyone who donated! And thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors who keep this program going, one hundred mothers are now able to babywear because of you!

First I would like to give a shout out to the following WAHM's for their wonderful support of the NMLB program the past two months!

K-Wraps has a program on her website where you can purchase a wrap at half price to be donated to NMLB!
Dream Carriers has a spot on her website where you can sponsor a NMLB mom!
Mei Tai Carrier has made a commitment to donate a new Mei Tai every month and has a place on her website where she will match each 25 dollar donation!

Once again, Andrea from Dream Carriers is holding a raffle and auction to raise funds for the No Mother Left Behind sling donation program.

Lastly, I would like to let everyone know that we are working on getting printable cards and flyers up on the website. We want you to be able to spread the word to mothers everywhere about the program. You will be able to print off flyers and pass them out at WIC offices, free clinics, and anywhere else that mothers in need might be.

There has been a lot of exciting things going on this past month at NMLB!
First off I am pleased to announce that Jason has taken advantage of his Christmas break and added a few more pages to the website and to enhance our program a bit. Here's what we've added and changed:
Donate Page: We now offer three different levels of "gifts" to our sponsors! Anyone who donates either slings or money to the No Mother Left Behind program is eligible to take part in our sponsors program. No Mother Left Behind currently averages 1,500 unique visits a month. We have three levels of recognition for our donors:
Bronze Package: Donors of 1 - 3 slings or $5 - $24 will be permanently placed on our Sponsors Page
Silver Package: Donors of 4 - 9 slings or $25 - $99 will be permanently placed on our Sponsors Page and will receive a 120x90 side ad for one month.
Gold Package: Donors of 10 or more slings or $100+ will be permanently placed on our Sponsors Page and will receive a 360x90 top ad for one month.
Apply Page: Because of the large amount of requests we have been receiving, we have implemented a simple verification process in order to ensure that mothers who are in the most need get helped. Applicants are now required to provide a photo ID and proof of low income.
News Page: All NMLB updates will be posted on the news page! Be sure to bookmark us!
About Us Page: A little information about our program and photos of our volunteers and little helpers. :)
Photos Page: Here we post photos of NMLB mothers using the sling that they received from our program! We'll have lots more photos posted soon.
Promote Page: If you would like to link to us you can get our banner code here. We will be adding more banners soon.
Resources Page: Here we have listed several other natural parenting programs for low income mothers.

I'd also like to give a big thank you to Sarah from Slinglings for her donation of 27 pouch slings! We were able to provide a lot of slings in time for Christmas because of her generosity! Thank you Sarah!
Our new total is 62! Since October 22nd 62 mothers in need have been provided with a sling! Thanks everyone!

Thank you to everyone that bought tickets for the No Mother Left Behind raffle. We sold 55 tickets!!! This comes at a great time because the wonderful Sarah from Slinglings sent us a big box of slings for our moms! We will be able to get a lot of slings out by Christmas to the moms on our waiting list!

We have a new volunteer!
I quickly realized that between shipping slings, updating the website, and responding to e-mails/phone calls/applications and donation requests….that I had no time for typing up the information forms and inserts that needed to be included with each sling that we shipped. I put out a plea for a volunteer and am pleased to announce that Melissa Elrod was the first to respond!

Wow, we have really taken off, how wonderful! Since we created the No Mother left Behind baby sling donation program on October 22nd we have been able to donate 23 baby slings to mother's in need!!! Thank you to everyone who has helped, donated and supported us! Let's keep it going! The waiting list is long but it moves fast as more and more women are donating their old sling, businesses are donating their "seconds" and even grandmother's are dusting off their sewing machines and making slings for us. We also created a banner so you can now link to us! Feel free to add the banner to your site, help spread the word!

I have had many people contact me asking if they can send their old slings to me so that I can pass them out to the young moms I doula for. I've also had moms from all over e-mailing me asking if I can send them a sling. Obviously there is a great need of slings for mothers who cannot afford them. With this in mind I've decided to create an official program. …NoMotherLeftBehind.Com !
